The Highland Crush: First Details

Dear Reader,

We’re now (just!) under two months from the release of The Highland Crush on 30 July.

Everything is going great at our end. In our opinion it’s going to be the best book of the series so far!

We’ve not revealed a whole lot about this story yet, so here are three facts to whet your appetite. You’re the first to hear them!

The Laird’s Feisty Virgin Bride

Our heroine, Iona Stewart, is highly intelligent, a little bit clumsy, and … a big fan of smutty historical romance books.

When we meet her, she’s moving back to Bannock after nine years in Glasgow. To keep herself entertained on the drive up, she’s listening to an audiobook called The Laird’s Feisty Virgin Bride.

Past and Present

Growing up, Iona and Lewis were inseparable and did everything together. Bannock’s more gossipy residents all agreed their friendship would surely develop into something more.

Fast forward to now, and things between Lewis and Iona are … strained, to put it mildly.

As their present-day love story unfolds, you’ll come across several flashbacks that reveal glimpses into their past.

Puppy Yoga

Last weekend Amy went to a puppy yoga class. Adorable cocker spaniel and cavachon puppies clambered over her as she attempted to perform poses such as upward-facing dog.

When she got home, Amy couldn’t resist sneaking a playful reference to puppy yoga into The Highland Crush. After all, Iona is a vet and an animal lover, and Grace (the heroine of The Highland Fling) is a yoga teacher, so … how could we not include it?

Bridgerton

Have you watched the new episodes of Bridgerton? We got through them in a matter of days and are now eagerly waiting the second part of the series. That carriage scene! ❤️🔥

Interestingly, we see a lot of Penelope in Iona. Both FMCs are quirky, intelligent, and curvy. #Polin

Scotland in the News

Scottish childhood sweethearts Bill and Anne Black first set eyes on each other aged 13 … then walked down the aisle 64 years later. (Thankfully Lewis and Iona don’t wait quite that long!)

Engaged couple Gav and Ellie were subject to a traditional “blackening” ritual by their friends … they were kidnapped and covered in molasses, eggs, and flour(!).

The Creative Scotland arts body has vowed to be more cautious after granting over £100,000 to an art installation that would have involved actors taking part in “non simulated sex scenes”.

A Scottish ice cream company has launched a “Swiftie Swirl” flavour in advance of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour coming to Scotland next week.

xx,

Amy and Gavin
