Dear Reader,
Here in Scotland the leaves are golden-brown and the air crisp. Winter is drawing nearer, but before the chill firmly settles in, we were recently lucky enough to escape to the sun-kissed south of Spain for a delightful four-night getaway. 😎☀️
Joined by extended family—15 of us in total!—we (over?)indulged at an all-inclusive retreat and enjoyed the pools and beach. Gavin has a brother who lives in the area, and so it was great to catch up with him and his family, and our daughter enjoyed having a chance to play with her cousins.
It was also a chance for us to recharge our batteries, but we’re now back at work on The Highland Game. We’ll share a few more details in next month’s newsletter, but we’re excited about how it’s shaping up.
#RomanceBookBlast
Once again we’re participating in Romance Book Blast, and this time so are 875 other authors!
If you’re not familiar with Romance Book Blast, a large number of romance authors make some of their books free for a day (or two). You can download these books from your preferred retailer, such as Amazon, at absolutely no cost to you.
We’ve once again included The Highland Kiss. On this occasion, though, two of our friends who also write Scottish contemporary romance have participated as well.
If you’ve not yet read Surfing with a Scotsman by Amber Cooper, or Love in the Scottish Winter Highlands and Love on the Scottish Summer Coast by Beatrice Bradshaw, why not grab them today? And why not check out all the other great books that are available?
To see the full list, go to romancebooklovers.com.
Scotland in the News
Guests have been enjoying staying at the world’s only “bookstore Airbnb” in Wigtown, Scotland.
Glasgow has held its first-ever tree-hugging tournament.
A teaser trailer has been released for a Scottish comedy horror film about midges (these biting insects can be a real nuisance in parts of the Highlands over the summer months!)
Highland Crush Extract
Halloween is just around the corner. Our books aren’t scary—far from it!—but our latest release, The Highland Crush, does feature a scene in which the main characters, Lewis and Iona, reminisce about an incident at a “haunted cottage” when they were younger.
This occurs when the two former best friends are having their first proper conversation in years, at the local pub, the Pheasant. For fun, we thought we’d include an extract from the scene below.
Sorry, but the extract was for newsletter subscribers only.
xx,
Amy and Gavin
