It's Almost Time for The Highland Fling

Dear Reader,

February fairly flew by, so much so that our February newsletter is actually coming to you at the start of March. Oops!

The Highland Fling

The Highland Fling is now just days away. We’re delighted with how Aidan and Grace’s story has turned out and can’t wait to share it with you.

A playboy hero and a heroine who’s sworn off men agree to hook up for one night only (yeah, right!) in this accidental-pregnancy romance that takes place between Bannock and London.

Amy McGavin. The Highland Fling. A True Scotsman Novel.

The eBook will be available from Tuesday (March, 5), and there’s still time to pre-order a copy. If you have Kindle Unlimited, you’ll be able to read The Highland Fling with your subscription.

The paperback will be releasing one week later. We’ll let you know when that’s available to order.

Sassy Lassies and a Radio Recording

We’ve been busy working on The Highland Fling, but Amy still managed to join a dance class called “Sassy Lassies”—a name that’s very on brand for us and is a great way to describe the heroines of the True Scotsman series!

Gavin, meanwhile, went to a recording of Breaking the News, a radio comedy show all about Scotland’s news, and which has on a few occasions inspired the “Scotland in the News” section of our newsletter.

The recording took place a few days after the disastrous Willy Wonka Experience in Glasgow, pictures of which went viral across the globe (have you seen them?!). There were, of course, a lot of good jokes about that.

The Bannock Hotel

An artistic friend of ours recently painted a couple of pictures of the Bannock Hotel.

The first shows the entrance as it looks at the start of The Highland Kiss, when it’s in need of some TLC:

The entrance to the Bannock Hotel, looking tired and worn and with weeds growing outside.

The second shows how it looks after Emily and Lewis have spruced it up:

The entrance to the Bannock Hotel, looking fresh and bright and with potted plants outside.

Our friend is working on illustrations of some of Bannock’s other establishments. We’ll share them in a future newsletter.

Scotland in the News

Come with me to a world of pure imagination…A bleak “Willy Wonka Experience” in a Glasgow warehouse has been talked about the world over.

The story of Honshu, the Japanese macaque that escaped Highland Wildlife Park and was videoed in the gardens of startled residents, was also picked up by several international newspapers.

Inverness has been named the most romantic place in Scotland for a getaway, and it’s only forty minutes from Bannock (… if Bannock were a real place).

The four actors who’ll be playing Jamie and Claire’s parents in Outlander: Blood of My Blood have been announced.

In Shetland, the Vikings were on the march for Up Helly Aa, the biggest fire festival in Europe.

xx,

Amy and Gavin
