Dear Reader,
The Highland Crush releases one month today on 30 July. We’re so, so excited about this one!
Of our three heroines so far, Iona Stewart is without doubt the closest to Amy personality-wise. A farm vet, Iona is very intelligent and capable, but she can also be a little clumsy and commits the odd verbal faux pas.
Amy could be described in exactly the same way, apart from the vet bit. In fact, recently we were talking with a friend about our hopes to go to the Braemar Gathering this September, a Highland Games that the British monarch typically attends. (We don’t want to give away too much, but… it’s research for book four!)
Amy meant to say to our friend, “I hope we see a few members of the Royal Family.” But she got her words muddled and instead said, “I hope we see a few royal members.” Pretty sure only Camilla, Kate, and Meghan get to see them. 🤭
The Highland Crush
If you want The Highland Crush to download to your Kindle as soon as it’s available, you can pre-order it now. Alternatively, you’ll be able to order a copy of the paperback and/or download the eBook via Kindle Unlimited from 30 July.
More of Main Street
In a previous newsletter, we shared some paintings of Bannock Main Street that a friend of ours did. Well, she’s been at it again!
Here’s the hairdresser’s, the Coffee Bothy, Bonnie’s Boutique, and the Otter’s Holt gift shop:
And here’s the butcher’s, Bannock Stores, and Elspeth’s house, in which Aidan and Iona grew up:
Our dog, Daisy, appears in one of the above pics. Can you spot her?
Any Questions?
A few people on social media have expressed curiosity about our writing process as a wife-and-husband writing team. We’ve also been asked about what’s next for the True Scotsman series after The Highland Crush.
In a future newsletter, we thought we’d answer some of the questions we’ve received. If you have any questions that you’d like us to address, email us and let us know! 😁
Scotland in the News
Dior held their first catwalk show in Scotland for 70 years.
Three Scottish brothers (not Ally, Lewis, and Jamie!) are aiming to break the record for the fastest row across the Pacific in a boat they designed themselves.
The Tartan Army travelled to German for the Euros football championship. Unfortunately, Scotland didn’t so well, but the fans seemed to make an impression(!).
xx,
Amy and Gavin
