Have You Seen the Cover for The Highland Fling?

Dear Reader,

It’s the last Friday in November! Hasn’t this year gone fast?

For those who celebrate it, we hope you had a great Thanksgiving yesterday.

Thanksgiving isn’t a holiday we do here in Scotland, but we did have Guy Fawkes Night (also known as Fireworks Night) earlier in the month, and next Thursday is Saint Andrew’s Day (Andrew being Scotland’s patron saint).

Christmas Approaches

Normally, we resist putting any Christmas decorations up before December, but this year has been a little different.

One day last week, our daughter was unwell and off school. After resting in bed all morning, she got up in the afternoon and assured us that putting up the decorations would really help her to feel better. So down they came from the loft, and up they went!

And it worked! She was back at school the next day. :-)

Writing Update

The Highland Kiss has now been out for a little over two weeks, and we’ve already received some lovely emails from people who have read it. Thank you so much!

We could still do with a few more reviews, so if you haven’t already, please consider taking a moment to share your thoughts on Amazon and/or Goodreads. It would really help us out!

Meanwhile, work on book two, The Highland Fling, is well underway. Eagle-eyed readers may have already spotted the cover on Amazon. For everyone else, here it is:

Amy McGavin. The Highland Fling. A True Scotsman Novel.

What do you think? The figure is Aidan Stewart, the hero of book two (and the best friend of Ally McIntyre from book one).

The Highland Fling is scheduled for release on 5 March 2024. The eBook is already available for pre-order, and the paperback will be available to buy from release day.

Scotland in the News

Scotland’s loneliest sheep has been rescued, having spent two years stranded at the foot of cliffs on the Cromarty Firth.

A bottle of Scotch whisky has been sold for $2.7 million, a new record for the most expensive wine or spirit sold at auction.

Scottish Country Dancing has been given a 21st century makeover, with the removal of the traditional “man’s side” and “woman’s side”.

And a new version of Scrabble has been released… in Gaelic!

xx,

Amy and Gavin
